Jewelry Designer Odelie Chan.

French designer Odelie Chan created her line of handcrafted earrings as a desire to wear 'non-boring' jewelry. I can totally picture myself dancing and striking poses within this spirited clip just as I did in my video for 'Still a Thrill' which was also filmed on location in Paris, France.

In My Beauty Bag: OPI 'Jade Is The New Black' Polish

I chose 'Jade Is The New Black' from OPI's Hong Kong Collection for my last pedicure. There are many shades of green that are popular and stylish for this summer. This heavily pigmented color is another to try, if you'd like to experiment with something new.

House of Harlow 1960.

Embrace and release your inner peacock feathers with this 14K gold pave necklace from Nicole Ritchie's House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line. She has many pieces in this collection that I adore.

Nature's Beauty: Oranges

A few facts:
Oranges are full of Vitamin C which is the primary water-soluble antioxidant in the body disarming free radicals and preventing damage with inside and outside cells. Inside cells, a potential result of free radical damage to DNA is cancer. Especially in areas of the body where cellular turnover is especially rapid, such as the digestive system, preventing DNA mutations translates into preventing cancer. This is why a good intake of vitamin C is associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer.
Vitamin C, which is also vital for the proper function of a healthy immune system, is good for preventing colds and may be helpful in preventing recurrent ear infections.
Citrus appears to offer the most significant protection against esophageal, oro-phayngeal/laryngeal (mouth, larynx and pharynx), and stomach cancers

Balenciaga Summer Style Must Have.

This Balenciaga tote is perfect for the beach or a casual summer day. There are many takes on this style in various price points. My Mom used to always carry big straw bags in the summer, I think it made an impression.

Notes.

A few choice lines from one of my favorite classic black and white movies "All About Eve" Starring Bette Davis.

Margo Channing: "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night!"

Margo Channing: "I'll admit I may have seen better days, but I'm still not to be had for the price of a cocktail, like a salted peanut."

Addison DeWitt: "I'm Addison DeWitt. I'm nobody's fool, least of all yours."

Addison DeWitt: ".. after tonight, you will belong to me.
Eve Harrington: Belong? To you? I can't believe my ears!
Addison DeWitt: What a dull cliché.
Eve Harrington: Belong to you - why, that sounds medieval, something out of an old melodrama!

Eve Harrington: "Get Out!" [throwing the door open]
Addison DeWitt: "..you're too short for that gesture.."

Margo Channing: "Nice speech, Eve. But I wouldn't worry too much about your heart. You can always put that award where your heart ought to be"

I appreciate snappy well written dialogue and crafty wordsmiths.

Summer 2010 Must Have: The Maxi Dress

A maxi dress is an absolute staple for any ladies summer wardrobe, dress it up or down. I prefer an empire waist, which flatters the body and hides a multitude of body flaws.

“The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating.” - Unknown

In My Beauty Bag: Evian Water Spray

I've been using this spray for years. It's another gem of a discovery from one of my make-up artists. It's great to use to set your make-up after application, hydrating your skin on a hot day, refreshing after make-up removal or simply for a pick me up after a long trip. It comes out as an ultra fine mist when sprayed.
For the summer, I always keep one in the fridge as a go to for instant heat relief. You can find Evian Water Spray at most drug stores and beauty supply outlets.

Orange Crush. Tory Burch

A nice way to add a splash of color is with a summer sandal. This is a nice look from designer Tory Burch.

Summer Shade. Jason Wu

Hot shades from the first line of sunglasses from designer Jason Wu. I really like the clear frame paired with the tinted lens.

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
